What a Month!!

Disclaimer: This post may go to long. So if you don’t have anything do, just like me, then you are welcome to pass your time here :).

I think there are less than 2 readers at present who come and visit this ever dying website. And the hope taken even deeper plunge that after this post the number will reduce to 1.

So here is the run down of the events of last one month or so.

Let start from January End.

1. I started my night shift. Yes it was the last thing they could have done. I was asked to come to office at 12 and leave by 8 in the morning so none of my team mate could meet. In true worlds of my manager “Without you in the office the whole team’s productivity increase many fold. I never knew that just by reducing 8 men hours (that is mine) I could get extra productivity of 40 men hours.”

2. Around the same time XAT (XLRI Aptitude Test) score were declared. And your truly score a mere 97.06 Percentile in that. For those unknown XAT is entrance exam for the one some of the best B-Schools in India. Yes, I am planning to get a degree in Ymmm Bee Aye.

3. Left my last room which I shared with my class mates and shifted with a colleague. Reason of leaving None!!

Some time in Feb

1. Got a call for college interview from the best place in India, GOA (Institute of Management). Yeah. Party time!! I was so drunk that forgot the close the door of the house. The next morning I had lost 2 phones total worth 17,000 INR. Yeah GOA did it to me. Again. This was the 4th and 5th mobile and 4th theft.

2. Started the regular office shift.

3. Went for the Interview for GIM. Screwed it up big time. Yeah. Again. Bloody Incompatibility.

4. My roomie was sent on exile to Nigeria. Why the heck he was so happy going to such a place. Green Paper still rocks.

5. Got another interview call form worst place to go, Chennai. Interview on 12th March. More updates soon.

6. Was down with cold and Fever so no Holi this year. And no booze too.

Now in March

1. One of my friend’s Friend called, “Hey Santosh me at Airport. I am off to Canada for 11 months. My company is sending me. See you after that.” Bloody Green Paper.

2. Got another Interview call from 2nd Place in India. Mumbai. (NMIMS, the best call). Will in Mumbai for the interview in the month end. IF you are in Mumbai than meet you there!!

Why i hate chat

I would like to meet her in real life and spent some time with her but….

This is a serious story about one of my friend and myself. This friend of mine has not met me in person. But we have seen each other, talked to each other, sang some duets and even fought. But never met in person. I dont know if that was because we never had time or she felt that i am not worth the time.

Those who are confused or gawking than here is full story. The story starts when i was student of school of science and a fan of the term called internet and its intricacy. The research of same led me to a new dimesion called yahoo and introduced me a long forgotten term called Y! Chat.

After a few days of jumping at yahoo rooms i came across a room where people were actually using the chat features to full use. These guys were playing Antrakshri using yahoo voice chat. Voila i was hooked. This was much better than adult 20+ room. People from diffrent part of the world singing out of tune. It was fun. Though no1 knew who is who. If the other person is sitting in india or US of A. We knew them by their chat id than their name. Names were rarely exchenged and and phone numbers were even rare.

But i was a fool who made friend there too and met some of them in person. It was a co-incidence that one fo them was from the same city and we met over. I have always thought of that person as an old person by the way he talked. but was shocked to find a smart young guy of 20 something standing there. For those who are thinking that what a fool i am, than guys mind you, Friends are rare and make sure that you make some whenever you can.

BTW we are deviating from the main point of our story. The story is about the person whom i have called Dream (I am yet to know who she really was what was her real name). We met on the same place called yahoo chat. we used to talk more than a regualr chatter should do. we became something more than a friend and she started to trust me more than i could have handled. May this was the trust that had kept us together for so long. And one fine day i told her its all over and she was gone. PUFF!!! lost for ever. gone!!

I would like to meet her in real life and spent some time with her but….

We LAP from the TOP.

This post is my cribbing against the Amity B-School

I am talking about a B school known as Amity Business School (ABS). Before I start of the cribbing part let me tell you the college lost it AICTE recognition way back in 2005 and their fees 7+ Lac. Including Laptop and Hostel fees. 5.5+ Lac for tuition fees. Though the website says 2.05 Lac per year.

Now, to the cribbing part. It’s mostly about their laptops. The college provides laptops made by HP. They even have a HP support centre inside the campus. The configuration and software provided.

Intel Celeron Processor 1.8GHz
512 MB of RAM
32 MB on board Graphics Card
80 GB Hard Disk
In built Ethernet card
Combo Drive CD – RW & DVD – R
Windows XP pro with the latest Service Pack and windows Office comes.

Great Na? But!! There is always a “butt”. The laptop belongs to the institution till the last installment of fees is not paid. The OS (operating system) installed is not a personal version but the registered in the name of ABS.

The processor of the laptop (Intel Celeron) is the oldest version of the processor available in market. They were introduced way back in 1998 as a alternative cheap processor. Where as most of the latest laptops are equipped with Core 2 Duo, the laptops provided at ABS come with a processor, which are to be phased out by Intel in first quarter of 2008.

The company on the other hand doesn’t provide any CD/ DVD with a restore/ backup software. You only get the laptop and nothing else. What could be the height of the matter that there are no Device Driver CD/ DVD provided. On probing the HP Desk the people out offered to write a driver CD if the CD is provided to them. Even the CD writing software comes pre installed and they provide no CD. Are the guys at HP trying to save some bucks in pursuit to cut cost?

My question is to whom the student of ABS will go if there is any problem with their laptops after 2 they get their degree?

The art of losing money…

How can you lose money and still be happy. Don’t know!! Ask me. I have doing the same for past few months now.

I been losing a big chunk of my money and I am not even complaining. Some of you may think that I am spending my money on either of these: –

1. Gambling
2. Pros.
3. Drinking (liquor, I do but once in a full moon)
4. Shopping (Yet to become a husband)
5. Smoking (trying to quit)

It’s not because of any of my bad habit, even if I have them. Its been taken away from me before I can get my hand on it. I was so shocked when they took it away for the first time. I went I asked them why are you taking my hard earned money from me. And they said you are earning too much so we are here to take a percentage of your money from you. For this we have talked to your company and they are to provide me with a percentage of your money.

For those who don’t know I have been earning this money with loads of pain. I have to sit on a revolving chair for 8 hours at stretch (excluding coffee and lunch breaks) doing what ever I wish to do, including chatting, blogging and surfing whole day.

I wont allow them to take that money from me. So I asked them how not to get them taking money from me. “ Thou shalt invested in Mutual funds, NSC, PPF, PF shalth you wishth to save some earnings!!!” (You shall invest in (all this crap) if you wish to save your earning)

I am talking about the Income deduction done by the company as TDS. The person taking away my money is Income Tax department of India. So I have to invest my money of I don’t want to pay tax. Thus I have to live a life of pauper either way. Pay the IT guys and get less income or invest the money in as to save tax and still stay pauper.
