Lies, Lies and More Lies

This is a Open Letter directed towards a person whom i have known for few years, supposedly celebrates her birthday on 1st of feb and lives outside india.

Dear Miss (or should i call u Mrs) unknown to me,

It was nice to have known you by so many names, email id’s and numbers. It was my mistake to have believed that people met on internet are real and may be they will let you know all about themselves. In most of the cases people online told me who they are and what they do. But as it turns out you were different. You were scared that people may misuse your identity, so you never told anyone as to who you are. You wanted to know everything about me but never told me a single thing about except obscure details like having a large family and stuff.

Just as it turns out i still don’t have much info on you but whatever info i have is more than enough to “think” some of the stuffs what you have told is all lies and thank you for that. I Hope that i will know little more bout u soon and it wont be a bag of lies or obscure truth.

Regards,

Santosh Kumar.

Stalker or Just Anonymous People?

A quick poll, How many of you have a got a call/message/text/chat request from someone who knew everything about you? On the other hand you don’t know anything about the person on the other side of the line! I know most of you will say “I have got one the other day” or “Me too” or “Damn those marketing calls”. If you are thinking of marketing calls than please stop there and think again. Marketing Calls don’t count. I don’t know if I am too sexy for pants or too dumb to live on this earth that I get calls from totally unknown people wanting to talk to me.

Here are some of the real life incident which involves me and a certain someone (Pun intended)

Story 1

It was during my college days that I got a missed call around 12 O’clock at night. I being a inquisitive type thought of giving in return call err missed call but being a gentleman that I am i ended up sending a message “Who is dis?”. “Is this Santosh? I am XYZ and you don’t know me” was the reply. The first thought was it must be one of my friend who has changed his number and playing prank. So I played along. Next day I got a call from the same number and to my horror it was a girl’s voice. As it turned out she knew everything bout me as to the area I lived, the college I went to, the semester I was in, the branch I had, Even my flat mate’s name. That was seriously good stuff. I tried to find about this person but wasn’t able to find anything. I asked her repeteadly who is she but it turned out she is not ready not give out her details.  So me being the angry one passed that number to all my friends and behold the power of free message the number was bombarded with SMS bombs and the after 2 hours the unknown number and sender both were out of my life. For the some inquisitive one I still remember that number. It was 98860-78901. Please don’t call this number.

Story  2

This was also during my college days. I got a mail from a lady (supposedly) in Chennai, studying Psychology and wanted me to become her subject. She used to send me questions and I used to answer it for her. Though we never talked but that was fun. And after few of those sessions the mails stopped and here I was alone and without any trace of my  again.

Story 3.

And this one was also during college. I used to frequent to Yahoo Chat Rooms. There I met loads of friends. They knew about me and I knew about them. I had their number and they had mine. We knew each other by our real name and not by Yahoo Handle, Mine used to be friends_4eeever (the id is no longer functioning).  There I she met me. I thought another crank user using some voice modulation software. But I got a call on my mobile and there we were talking. But as it turns out this lady was identity shy and even after loads of cajoling she just said I want my privacy and won’t divulge any information which will tell the world who I am.

Story 4.

This happened around 2 weeks back. It was 9 A.M. in the morning. I was sound sleep. For unknown my office timing is from 9:30 A.M. to 06:30 P.M. I was jolted out of my sleep by this call. Here is the transcript.

Me : Hello? (Its better be good cos you have disturbed my sleep)

Caller : hello! Who is this?

Me: (Ah. this is good.) You called tell me who do u want?

Caller: I got a miss call from your number.

Me: When?

Caller: Yesterday evening around 5.

Me: (Now you got time to call and ask who am I?) I never gave you any call. Tell me what do you want? Else I am disconnecting the call. I am still half asleep and need to get ready for office.

Caller: Is this Santosh from Bhubneswar.

Me: Santosh Yes but not from bhubneswar

Caller: Ok now guess who I am?

Me: (Some crank caller who is pissing me off.) Look buddy I don’t have time for such game. I am already running late for office.

Caller: Ok than will talk to you later.

Till today I am waiting for that call.

Story 5.

Just a few days before the above mentioned call. I got a message on GTalk stating that someone has clicked on the chatback badge, Click here to talk to the guest. So I started the chat. It was one of my blog reader. And there was demand for a new post. The last post was a the post asked for. I asked the person as identity cos it feels good to know who is at the other end of line. But again I got was that the person is a doing MBA from delhi and knows me through my blogs and won’t tell me anything else.

Those who want to know what is the “chat back badge.” Just look right where it says “Talk to Santosh Kumar” it’s the chat back badge. Use it to talk to me. Though sometimes you have try 3-4 time before we can get connected.

Now the request:-

To my friends -> if it’s you guys be-aware.

To my readers -> I  hate anonymous people so do let me know who are you. I am still a inquisitive fellow and love to know more about my readers.

To other -> Buzz Off. I don’t give a Damn.

And the final question. Why me? any one who can answer that.

Why i hate chat

I would like to meet her in real life and spent some time with her but….

This is a serious story about one of my friend and myself. This friend of mine has not met me in person. But we have seen each other, talked to each other, sang some duets and even fought. But never met in person. I dont know if that was because we never had time or she felt that i am not worth the time.

Those who are confused or gawking than here is full story. The story starts when i was student of school of science and a fan of the term called internet and its intricacy. The research of same led me to a new dimesion called yahoo and introduced me a long forgotten term called Y! Chat.

After a few days of jumping at yahoo rooms i came across a room where people were actually using the chat features to full use. These guys were playing Antrakshri using yahoo voice chat. Voila i was hooked. This was much better than adult 20+ room. People from diffrent part of the world singing out of tune. It was fun. Though no1 knew who is who. If the other person is sitting in india or US of A. We knew them by their chat id than their name. Names were rarely exchenged and and phone numbers were even rare.

But i was a fool who made friend there too and met some of them in person. It was a co-incidence that one fo them was from the same city and we met over. I have always thought of that person as an old person by the way he talked. but was shocked to find a smart young guy of 20 something standing there. For those who are thinking that what a fool i am, than guys mind you, Friends are rare and make sure that you make some whenever you can.

BTW we are deviating from the main point of our story. The story is about the person whom i have called Dream (I am yet to know who she really was what was her real name). We met on the same place called yahoo chat. we used to talk more than a regualr chatter should do. we became something more than a friend and she started to trust me more than i could have handled. May this was the trust that had kept us together for so long. And one fine day i told her its all over and she was gone. PUFF!!! lost for ever. gone!!

I would like to meet her in real life and spent some time with her but….

Of Dreams and Dreamer

This is just what I believe about my life. Sometimes when I think about it I feel what an ass I have been to play with so and the next second I think whatever I have done is correct either it was love, friends, education, investment, job or anything in between.

Some of you may say that my last post was about what all we think and how our life should be. But guys forget it not that we often look back and cherish that happy moments, cry on those sad moments but its not always but just once in a while. So it was one of those days when I was thinking how have I fared in life.

Than came this realization that I have hurt of loads people down the lane. One of them was a Dream. It was the time when Google Mail was the new kid on the block and yahoo was the biggest star on the horizon. Half of the world thought that yahoo and msn chat is best thing happened to us after telephone J, including yours truly. I was in my 3rd year of engineering and the yahoo chat rooms recorded much more attendance than college classes. It was not just type and talk chat but it was full duplex voice chat (sometimes I love those techie jarons). Most of us used to play antrashri and talk out heart out. There I met this girl who had a chat id not so common.

She had a name, which meant Dream and it was truly like dream that I met someone online and talked. It was fun and than I started getting calls. The numbers from which the calls came was unknown to me but the voices were known. They were the same people who I have met online and talked and one of them was Dream. The same Dream I have talked to and wanted to see in life. But as the saying goes “ man proposed and god deposed” it was same with me some problem and we parted out ways without meeting.

So a story long forgotten remain in the Dream and I became a Dreamer. Thank you my Dream where ever you are. Sorry for whatever I have wrong.

VOTM @ U2b.in

Yesterday I went to the site http://u2b.in to find that I have been nominated the Reader of the month. It was nice shock to come for a guy who has already broken 3 monitors, 5 Mouse, and 19 keyboards after visiting the site. My general condition after reading the blogs was photographed by the http://u2b.in official photographer Shivkumar.

VOTM @ u2b.in

It was sad to know that he is currently in the hospital getting treated for a massive blow to his stomach by some unknown elements of destruction. The chairman of u2b.in is putting the charges on my maid and watchman for his photographer’s present condition. I am still probing into the case.

Latest new being that I am asked to give an interview (again) by the Editor in Chief of the website http://u2b.in for being their first VOTM. The interview will be published soon.
